A few years back they had live bands in The Crown Billericay, so packed you was lucky to get through the front door then it stopped, dunno why.

Mrs T lived in Great Bentley. Thought it was decent, on the Clacton Liverpool Street train line if you have to commute and houses weren't too expensive. Only one pub there now though

Recently moved from Brentwood to Stock having grown up in Romford. Stock is fucking beautiful and has some of the best country pubs and the Hoop beer festival each year is great.

I like Hornchurch, easy to get everywhere, pubs, restaurants and some good junior schools.

My plan is to be able to move to Upminster when the boy is older - that’s where i’d Go if I had the money for what I want.

For me it’s also about being near family as they grow older.

Pagelsham is nice if you want right off the beaten track... saying that their 400 year old village boozer has just shut (the Punch Bowl) ... another one bites the dust

That's so true. I can remember Ilford used to have two Tory MPs, North and South. In those days it was a decent place to live. Now both MPs are shit bag Labour and the place has turned into a shit hole.

Re: Essex - Good Places to Live
Commute from Billericay daily is fine, and nice place to live.
Much cheaper travel on the C2C line though, problem there is you have to live near near the C2C line....So in a way, those people deserve cheaper fares.......

I was born in Dagenham, grew up in Hornchurch and Gidea Park. I moved to West Horndon 3 years ago and Dunton 6 months ago.
I agree with the above poster who commented about South of the a127. Although, there are a few decent places; North Ockendon, Orset, West Horndon, Dunton and Langdon Hills.

As a very crude rule of thumb, anywhere with a Tory MP.

Sad but true.
